It is almost magical.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Sometimes that magic slips away.\u00a0 Your boss turns his company over to one of his kids, the PTA President resigns because her child graduates, the Rotary President passes the gavel to the next in line, or your church leader moves on to another ministry.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Naturally you want to hang on to the magic but it is difficult when the new leader, who has legitimate authority, doesn\u2019t have much experience with the organization or doesn\u2019t know how to motivate people.\u00a0 Your options typically are to leave the organization or hang on and reminisce about the good ol\u2019 days.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">The best option is for you to be the inspiration in the organization, even though you don\u2019t have the authority of the boss, leader, president, etc.\u00a0 It dictates that you lead by inspiring others from the middle of the pack instead of at the head of the pack.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Charismatic authority is what leading from the middle is called.\u00a0 People follow you because they believe in you and your ideas, even though you do not have legitimate authority in the organization.\u00a0 You are an influencer and a persuader for good.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Being the inspiration requires that you are:<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Willing to inspire others<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">You have to care about the organization, its people and its products\/services because others can feel your enthusiasm or lack thereof.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000080; font-size: 16pt;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"http:\/\/allred10.com\/?p=346\" target=\"_blank\">Persuasive<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">The hallmark of a charismatic leader is the ability to persuade people, because you cannot reward or punish them for not following you.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Consistent<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Improvement cannot be sustained unless\u00a0proper methods of achieving the organization&#8217;s goals are consistently used. \u00a0For example, the organization cannot work as a team if members of the organization are gossiping about each other.\u00a0 The leader must be consistent in encouraging everyone to work together, without petty criticism.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Insistent<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">People have to be reminded that the objective is important by insistent encouragement. The leader must insist that it is important that everyone buys into the goal and the methodology.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Persistent<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Persistence is necessary so people will not think that by ignoring an issue, it goes away.
