{"id":834,"date":"2021-02-05T15:32:05","date_gmt":"2021-02-05T15:32:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/allred10.com\/?p=834"},"modified":"2025-11-24T14:05:46","modified_gmt":"2025-11-24T14:05:46","slug":"dont-judge-me","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/allred10.com\/?p=834","title":{"rendered":"\u201cDon\u2019t Judge Me!\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16pt;\"><br \/>\nWe often hear the phrase, \u201cDon\u2019t judge me,\u201d especially when the person saying it is doing something that they know they shouldn\u2019t.\u00a0 Some use the biblical, \u201cJudge not that ye be not judged\u201d (Matt 7:1), as justification.\u00a0 Jesus Christ did not mean that we should not make any judgments because he also said, \u201c\u2026judge righteous judgment\u201d (John 7:24).\u00a0 It is, therefore, important that we learn how to judge righteously or appropriately.\u00a0 When I <span style=\"color: #000080;\"><a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"http:\/\/allred10.com\/?p=575\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">die<\/a><\/span>, I am confident that I will still be judged even if I never judged anyone.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16pt;\">Will Rogers said, \u201cGood judgment comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.\u201d\u00a0 Certainly we learn from our experience but it would be wonderful if we could avoid bad experiences.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16pt;\">Since we all make hundreds of judgments every day; including, what will I do with my free time and, how much will I spend on a hamburger; these are some guidelines to consider.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16pt;\">Appropriate Judgement<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16pt;\">Associations \u2013 We must all determine if those we associate are potentially damaging to us. For example &#8211; Will I go to lunch with the group at work that likes to tell dirty jokes? \u00a0Will I allow my children to go to the home of people I do not know very well?\u00a0 We can work with and be around others that do not share our standards but we have the right and obligation to protect ourselves as much as possible from those associations that are harmful.\u00a0 We also judge who we will date and marry.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16pt;\">Philosophies \u2013 Evil does exist in the world and wickedness is glorified in the <span style=\"color: #000080;\"><a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"http:\/\/allred10.com\/?p=530\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a><\/span>. We use our judgement to keep those philosophies from damaging our lives.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16pt;\">Life Paths \u2013 Just because it looks cool to spend your life gratifying your every urge doesn\u2019t mean that it is a good choice. If others choose a certain <span style=\"color: #000080;\"><a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"http:\/\/allred10.com\/?p=694\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lifestyle<\/a><\/span> or if there is something that \u201ceveryone\u201d does, you don\u2019t have to follow suit.\u00a0 Use your judgement to determine if that is the correct path for you.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16pt;\">Habits \u2013 Some habits hurt others. Some lead to <span style=\"color: #000080;\"><a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"http:\/\/allred10.com\/?p=396\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">addictions<\/a><\/span>.\u00a0 Judge carefully because your choice could control your future.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16pt;\">Appearance \u2013 Everyone knows that you can\u2019t judge a book by its cover but following that adage blindly could lead you astray. The clothes we wear and the things we do to our bodies are our personal billboard as to what we are.\u00a0 Sometimes our interpretation is wrong but there is nothing wrong with being cautious around a person who is advertising something we don\u2019t buy.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16pt;\">Abilities \u2013 If you have ever hired a plumber or interviewed a job applicant, you know that you must be able to <span style=\"color: #000080;\"><a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"http:\/\/allred10.com\/?p=346\">judge the abilities<\/a><\/span> of someone to do a certain job.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16pt;\">Inappropriate Judgement<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16pt;\">Snap Judgements \u2013 Except in emergency situations, snap judgements should be avoided. Don\u2019t judge by appearances or initial impressions.\u00a0 Do some research and evaluation, otherwise you can make some bad decisions and lose out on some cherished friendships.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16pt;\">Potential \u2013 We are incapable of determining the potential of another person. We are all children of God and Christ told us to perfect like he is.\u00a0 We can never say that another person will never be a better person than they are right now.\u00a0 There is always hope.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16pt;\">Final Judgement \u2013 Only God has the right and the ability to render a final judgement. Some say that they are going to heaven; while those who worship differently than they do are damned.\u00a0 That judgement is exactly what is meant by, \u201cJudge not\u2026\u201d \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16pt;\">Ego Driven \u2013 Any judgement that has the sole purpose of fueling someone\u2019s <span style=\"color: #000080;\"><a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"http:\/\/allred10.com\/?p=219\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">arrogance<\/a><\/span> will be tainted, at best. Those who live to judge others to make themselves look better will lead a lonely and unfulfilled existence.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16pt;\">Judging Oneself Too Harshly \u2013 We all have problems and character flaws.
